The Standard chair is a modern classic and is featured in design museums throughout the world.
Designed in 1934/50 by Jean Prouve . With the knowledge chairs take the most strain on their back legs, the Prouve standard chair consists of tubular steel piping for the front legs that take relatively little strain, whereas the back legs are made of voluminous hollow sections which pass the strain to the floor. Robust and functionally versatile, the Standard Chair works equally well in domestic settings or as public seating in cafés and restaurants.
